Roof glazing is the hardest thing in the house to dress well, and the place where a bad job shows most. We make blinds for roof lanterns, Velux units and pitched glazing, built to the exact recess and fitted by our own team.
The system we fit runs on a hidden belt drive inside a four-sided frame, there are no tension cords or support wires crossing the glass, so the lantern still reads as open sky when the blind is back. Fabrics are cellular, which means real insulation: less glare and heat in summer, less heat lost through winter.
Everything is motorised as standard, on mains, rechargeable battery or solar power, and controlled from a handset, a wall switch, your phone, or Alexa and Google.
Why this system
Most roof blinds hang on tension cords and guide wires. Ours doesn't.
The blind runs on a hidden belt drive inside a four-sided frame. No tension cords or support wires cross the glass, so the lantern looks open and clean when the blind is retracted.
Every fabric is honeycomb-cell, trapping a layer of air against the glass. It keeps the heat out in July and the warmth in through winter, the difference in a glazed extension is immediate.
Blockout fabric paired with brush strips down the side channels gives a genuinely dark room, which matters in loft bedrooms and media rooms.
Floating ribs stack back with the fabric on wider units, so even a big lantern stays flat and taut with nothing hanging in the void.
In motion
The fabric stacks back into a slim headbox at one end, leaving the lantern completely clear. Quiet enough that you'll only notice the light changing.
